Stoudemire: the new Miami Heat

Amare Stoudemire, one of the most recent acquisition by the Miami Heat, had his first assignment as a member of the ball club to visit an elementary school on Port Lauderdale earlier. It is his first public appearance since signing a deal for 1.5M dollars earlier this off season. He brought some of the staffs of his new team. He helped distribute a lot of those school supplies that are given away to the students. One of the students even asked him if he was Bosh.

We all know that Amare has the skill to be a top player in the league, what we don't know is if it is still there with him. Five years ago, back in the summer of 2010, when he is at the top of his game, the Miami Heat is one of the teams who is trying to land Amare. For whatever reasons (I am not saying anything about the $$$), even though he is living in Miami, he chose to sign with the New York Knicks.

It has been ups and downs in his last five years in the NBA. Injuries and chemistry problems dictated his time with the New York Knicks. The not so good part is that he can't just walk away because he chose to sign a long term deal in five years. He never did have the chance to lift his team like what he did with the Phoenix Suns, with the help of Steve Nash of course, because he has Melo with him. Melo is not a point guard who can throw him the ball at the paint. Melo is the one who is making everybody a point guard making them pass the ball to him whenever he is on the mood to shoot; which is every day.

So maybe he just didn’t fit right in New York. Maybe he should have signed with the Miami Heat back then and have the chance to be a part of a great team. He could have won some rings in there.

Anyway, it is way beyond in the past. The fact is, from now on, it will be a now or never for him. It's great to be hearing that he is working to keep himself healthy. Also he said that he has deep ties with his team mates. Reports said that he is hanging out with the Miami veteran Dwayne Wade at a bar in New York. It has been also said that he talks to Chris Bosh regularly via text or call. Also he considered Goran to be his close friend from their days back on Phoenix.

The acceptance of whatever role he is given on the team will be a big factor for the Miami Heat organization to be back as a contender again. They are becoming a good team again; all they need to do is play as a team and pick up the pieces. Those W's will come.
