Lakers considering signing Metta World Peace

Metta World Peace has been out of the NBA since the New York Knicks waived him during the 2013 - 14 season where he only played 29 games before being amnestied. He averages 4.6 points per game in almost twelve minutes per game while playing for the Knicks.
During the times that Ron, or should I say Metta, was out of the NBA he played in Italy and in China.
During this off season Ron was said to be playing with the Laker players in one of their facilities.
The Lakers are obviously shopping for a small forward which they currently lack in their current roster. There have been reports of them also eyeing for some Asian talents.
There is only almost a month left before the training camp begins. And the Lakers know that they need to fill their roster before the camp.
